Artisanal and small-scale mining represents a significant portion of global gold mining labor. Historically, it has been plagued by safety issues and chemical hazards. Aurum Nova is changing this dynamic.
Our Community Mined Gold initiative is built on a direct-partnership model. Instead of replacing local miners, we integrate them. We supply local community cooperatives with certified safety helmets, boots, gloves, and clean sorting equipment.
One of our major achievements is the elimination of mercury in local sorting processes. We have deployed clean gravity separation tables and shaking tables to our community hubs. These systems separate gold particles using water and density alone, preventing toxic run-off from entering native river beds.
By purchasing the processed gold directly from cooperatives at stable global rates, we remove predatory brokers. This ensures that the wealth generated stays directly within the local economy, funding schools, solar microgrids, and local water wells.
