Jasiri Mine is the flagship direct-owned operation of Aurum Nova. It is a world-class open-pit gold mine that stands as a model of efficient, modern extraction in East Africa.
Spanning over 42.5 km² of geologically rich bedrock, Jasiri utilizes a multi-terrace open-pit structure. Pits are excavated in a series of stepped benches (terraces) that reduce rock-slope stress, creating exceptionally safe hauling pathways for our haul fleet while ensuring maximum slope stability.
Hauling ores in dry climates can generate airborne dust particles that affect local air quality. Jasiri Mine operates a specialized fleet of water spray trucks that apply recycled process water to haulage roads. Combined with strict vehicle speed limits and digital telemetry monitors, dust levels remain strictly compliant with statutory environmental regulations.
To minimize transport emissions and haulage overheads, ore is processed on-site. Raw stone is moved directly to the Jasiri crushing plant, where it is prepared for closed-loop gravity separation and carbon-in-pulp recovery circuits. Co-locating extraction and processing eliminates thousands of haul trips annually, maintaining a low operational carbon footprint.
