Traditional mining has often left behind tailing materials in ponds, posing risks to nearby rivers. The Imara facility processes these historical tailings, reclaiming leftover gold while neutralizing chemicals and filtering wastewater completely.
The core of the Imara plant is our multi-stage water filtration system. Using reverse osmosis, sand filters, and natural settling basins, we process water used in sorting. Rather than discharging this water, 85% of it is piped back into the sorting loop, ensuring we don't draw from local groundwater aquifers.
Once tailing minerals are neutralized, the soil is mixed with organic fertilizers and compost. This rebuilt soil is used to restore historical mining sites, converting dry dirt into lush green terraces. Local native tree seeds are sown, restoring local biodiversity and preventing soil erosion.
